Give a man a fish and you feed him for a day; teach a man to fish and you feed him for a lifetime.
* * *
A few days ago Mol's and I took Allie and Kate fishing at Otter Creek.
I can't tell you how amazing it is to have women in my life who love being on the river.
It fills every crevice of my soul!
What's one thing you love doing with your girls?

Dear Emily Loerke,
I came across your blog about a month ago at the recommendation of my sister. You, my kind-hearted woman, are a marvel to behold! Your honest and light words, your lovely photographs, and the sharing of your very self has both inspired and blessed me- and no doubt- others. Your husband writes sometimes too, yes? Equal kudos to him. :) My hubby and I decided to start a share journal/back & forth letters last month after having read some things that you & Tim to do keep your marriage alive and beautiful on a daily basis. Thank you!!! (Looking back, he & I developed our friendship through email writing way back in college, so it's super sweet & fitting that we're doing this now). Emily & Tim, thank you for sharing your gifts with the world!!! The LORD is SO pleased with you both. Lastly I'd like to say that presenting questions to your readers is what true community and love is all about. The back and forth. The give and take. GOD IS SOOOOO GOOD! Peace out, friends. <3

6th photo down = one for the books. mommas fishing with their babies on their backs just melts your heart in the sweetest way. you've got some lucky kiddos, to get to grow up like that.

I love your baby carriers! Which ones are they and do you recommend them? My little lady is outgrowing her front carrier, but I'm not quite ready to give her up to a stroller yet. :)

My girls and I don't fish, but I wish we knew how! We mostly explore cities, drink coffee and talk.. Good times that are good for the soul.

I love your blog. Lots of inspiration for living a purposeful, joyful life.

Learning to fish is on my lifetime list. I went fishing a bit as a child with my dad, but it's been years since I've held a fishing pole. Have you guys ever thought about putting together a learn to fly fish weekend (or however long it should be) for women? I know I would sign up, and travel from Minnesota, to learn from you guys!
