{Watauga & South Holston Rivers} TN

You know it's a good day on the river when ...
You're being guided by Orvis' guide of the year, Patrick Fulkrod.
You're eating Snickers and drinking a cold IPA before 11am.
Your shoulders hurt from catching over 60 wild brown trout.
You discover a 10ft 5wt Helios is your favorite fly rod.
You forget to pump because you're having so much fun.
You watch your best friend catch the biggest brown of her life.
You realize your worst enemy is daylights savings.
And you plan your next trip to the Watauga and South Holston before you hit the boat ramp.
Never before have I had so much fun catching trout.
Thanks Patrick for being the best guide.
You put us on fish and made us laugh the whole day!
Happy Thursday, brave ones.
Here's to doing something you love!

Okay, seeing you girls fly fishing, I gotta know-- Who taught you how? Nobody I know fishes this way and I think it is very interesting. Did you grow up fishing this way? I was plunked down on West Virginia river banks with a good ole Zebco 33. :D Great pictures, thanks for posting! Hugs--Casey

casey, molly and i both have grown up fishing all of our lives ... we got into fly fishing about 3-4 years ago. it's very different than bass fishing which is what we were used to. after lots of practice and time on the river we've learned a thing or two, but are constantly humbled by sneaky trout!

I always love your fish pics! It makes me wonder- do your families freeze and eat all these fish throughout the year? If yes, YUM!
Thanks for inspiring the world.

I live in the mountains of East Tennessee and run by these rivers all the time. Welcome to our beautiful neck of the woods!
