{Gratitude Lately}

Friday, February 27, 2015

Lately I've been thankful for a place where everyone knows your name.

For colors brighter than a Crayon box.

For maple cortados and biscuits with duck gravy.

For sweet company while working.

For melting ice and morning sun.

For a best friend who watches my babe so I can go to the doctor.

For matte white glaze and recycled clay.

For corrective lenses and the ability to see.

And for KY cabins covered in snow.
Here's to gratitude and how it turns everything into enough.
Happy Friday, brave ones!
What have you been thankful for lately?

{Brave Loerke} Happy 10 Months!

Wednesday, February 25, 2015

Currently loving : bubble toupee's, hiding behind the curtains, bath time with Rowan, sticking out her tongue, eating rocks in the driveway, jumping in her crib, and licking the walls.
Happy 10 months, Bravey Train.
To the moon!

Sometimes when you have cabin fever coffee on the front porch can feel like
being on a different continent.

Dear Timothy James, you just upped my Bean Boot game. Thank you for knowing the way to my heart is through pine trees and lamb's wool. Dear Snowmageddon, 11" of snow, -24 degree windchill, and 5 days of no school. #wecryuncle Dear Brave, at 10 months old you finally slept through the night. Somebody get me a shot of bourbon and my breastpump. Dear Mr. Loerke, so far this year you've read 2 books simply by fasting from TV the first week of each month. You. Inspire. Me.

Happy Friday, y'all! You made it! PS- the socks are from a Canadian company called Treeline Outdoors. You can order them online HERE!

{Snowmageddon} Goodness

Tuesday, February 17, 2015

The beginning of eight inches of snow.
 Winter laying hens.
Rudolf the red nosed River.
The Harvest House snow globe.
Watching squirrels.
And the moment Brave was over the cold.
Here's to snow day #3 tomorrow.

In our window sits a succulent pot I bought in Louisville before I knew I would move here,
and our entryway rug turned pillows thanks to our billy goat Labrador, River.
Both reminded me this morning that things often turn out better than I imagine.
Happy Tuesday, y'all!

Lately I've been thankful for fleece jammers on crawling knees.

For snackthirty bunzillas.

For uterus night around a wood burning stove.

For thoughtful Airbnb guests who leave us local beer.

And for teething babes who give up and finally fall sleep.
Here's to gratitude and how it turns everything in to enough.
Happy Monday, y'all.
What have you been thankful for lately?

{Hot Coffee}

Our friend Brooke {owner of Please & Thank You} just opened up Hot Coffee in West Louisville.
Be sure and check them out the next time you're craving coffee, cookies, soft-serve, and nachos!
Happy Valentine's Day, y'all.
We hope it's sweet!

Frequenting a place where the French toast is $3.99 and
your waitress's leather belt is stamped "Clara" is vital to your overall happiness.

Dear Timothy James, yesterday I woke up to the sound of you scraping ice off of my car before you left for work. Bonus points for making me smile in the dark before my eyes were even open. Dear Montana, we're coming for you! Can't wait to celebrate 10 years of marriage while fly fishing in Yellowstone this May. Dear Single Baby, I like to think you were channeling your inner Beyonce when you woke up from your nap. I'm crazy in love with you. Dear Mr. Loerke, whenever I come back from running errands I look up and see you and Brave waving in our bedroom window. Your welcome home makes getting out in rush hour traffic worth it.

Happy Saturday, y'all! What are you looking forward to today?

{Otter Creek}

Monday, February 02, 2015

Saturday we went fly fishing at Otter Creek.
Brave ate her first leaf and I caught one of my favorite fish yet.
It was a 16.5" rainbow that had a custom dry fly already hooked in it's mouth.
Made me wish I could tell the fisherman who lost him that he tied a beautiful fly.
Here's to getting outside in winter to do the things you love!
Happy Monday, brave ones!
