Dear Timothy Loerke, when I walked up to the house last night the smell of lavender hit me in the face like a dryer sheet. Thank you for knowing the way to my heart is through dirt more than diamonds. Dear River, five minutes after we planted cabbage seedlings you decided to dig them up and eat them for dinner. Next time we're planting habanero peppers. Dear Brave, recently you discovered that sitting on the sink drain keeps your bathwater from disappearing. Four points for creative use of the junk in your trunk. Dear Mr. Loerke, when you told me what you're building for Brave's first birthday my inner Max leapt. Can't wait for the Wild Rumpus games to begin!

Happy Friday, y'all! What smells remind you most of home?

My heart is more towards dirt than diamonds as well. LOVE it!

Happy Friday! The smell of onions cooking in butter, the wormy smell of earth after rain, and blooming bleeding hearts are home smells for me.

You crack me up! "Next time we're planting habanero peppers." Home smells like a cozy candle, warm chocolate chippers, and fresh flowers from the garden.

I cracked up at Brave's recent discovery! :D Sounds like something my 8 month old will soon figure out... babies love their baths, don't they?!

Baking spices and coffee remind me of my childhood home, but my current home has a more distinctive aroma. Our office is pretty old and somehow the wooden walls of the basement staircase smell like old cigars. At first it bugged me, but now it just smells like home!
