{Fly Fishing Yellowstone}

Wednesday, June 03, 2015

While in Yellowstone Tim and I spent two days fishing with our friend Wes Hoecker.
He taught us more about dry flies and casting than anyone!
He also put up with me missing fish, popping flies, taking pictures of wildlife, and introduced us to
Yvon Chouinard's best friend and fly fishing legend, Craig Mathews.
If you're ever in need of a fly fishing guide in Big Sky, Montana,
email Wes at weshoecker@gmail.com
We can't recommend him enough!
Happy Thursday, y'all.
You've almost made it to the weekend.

Em--what is it about fly fishing you love so much? I mean it obviously looks like a blast and you're in the best environment, but what got you interested and what's kept that interest sustained?

j, i always grew up fishing with my dad. it gave me so much life as a kid! i loved being outside & spending time with my papa. the stillness of the water early in the morning, tug on my line, watching a rod bend and a fish run will always (for whatever reason) feel like home to me.

This looks like a great trip, maybe you can tell us more about how you decided for the trip and how it was to take it alone. Love to hear about your decision making.
