We had a great time spending Thanksgiving weekend catching trout in North Carolina.
We couldn't have asked better weather, food, or fish!
What was the highlight of your Thanksgiving weekend?

Looks like fun! I have not been fly fishing in ages!

I actually ended up having an emergency appendectomy Thanksgiving morning, but my fiancé came down to help help my parents/me for the next two days, so we spent Thanksgiving planning our upcoming honeymoon to Asheville! Any suggestions?

j&h, we got to have a real thanksgiving meal the night before with friends which made our frozen pizza thanksgiving night not seem so bad ;)

k, i love that you got to celebrate your birthday with friends in london! happy happy happy birthday to you sweet girl!

j, that sounds like NO fun, but so glad to hear you had great support and are doing okay. Asheville is wonderful! here's our list of favorites we send people :)

Places to Eat:
1. French Broad Chocolate Lounge for dessert - We usually go twice a day when we're in Asheville
2. Farm Burger - Great burger, fries, and a killer salted caramel shake. You can play bocce ball there too
3. White Duck - Amazing tacos & chips / guac
4. Sunny Point Cafe & Early Girl Cafe - A must for breakfast
5. King Daddy's - Known for their chicken & waffles. Great dinner or lunch spot.
6. Salsas is known for their Mexican food
7. Tupelo Honey - Iconic and known for their biscuits
8. Waking Life - Best coffee

Things to do:
1. Drink a beer and play corn hole at The Wedge (Pisgah Pale Ale is a personal local fave)
2. See a concert at the Orange Peel
3. Catch a drum circle at the square downtown on a Friday night
4. See the Biltmore Estate
5. Land a wild rainbow on the Davidson River :) Let us know of you want to fly fish and we'll set you up with the best
guide in town.
6. Hike! Hike! Hike! Looking Glass Falls and walking around the arboretum are beautiful. Max a Patch hike is about 45 min
east of Asheville near the TN border. Check out more great hikes HERE.
7. Be sure and visit Mast Outdoor store. It's two levels and one of the coolest outdoor stores we've ever been in!
8. Keep an eye out for local roadside fruit stands!

FUN! I actually think i saw you guys at the Hatchery getting ready and cuddling Bravery. I turned to my sister and said, I think I read her blog, but I don't want to be all creepy and go up and introduce myself. She said "good idea" as younger sisters always say.

:)

Have you guys done much winter fishing in NC? We aren't going until February and love the idea of spending a day on the Davidson, but we can't find much info on late winter fishing.
