When you've spent half the summer believing you're a mermaid you've won the lottery in her mind.
Happy September Eve!
Here's to a new month and a new season!

{Iron & Wine} Waterfront Wednesday

Thursday, August 31, 2017

I couldn't ask for a better way to end a really challenging month.
August, you were not my favorite but you taught me much about grief and loss.

{Dragon Slayers}

Friday, August 25, 2017

There's no friend like someone who has known you since you were born.
On our way to the park yesterday these two bickered like siblings.
On our way home they wouldn't stop hugging and kissing each other's knees in the stroller.
They are the best of friends and help keep each other grounded.
May they always remember there is beauty in their differences.
Keep slaying dragons Rowan Able & Bravey Train.
aaaaaand Happy Fun Day Friday!
{This usually involves lots of chocolate milk and family movie night at the Harvest House}.
What do your Fun Day Friday's include?

Wednesday, August 23, 2017

My dad introduced me to Pink Floyd when I was 7 or 8.
Listening to Side 2, Song 5 seemed fitting on the day of the eclipse.

"All that is now, all that is gone, all that is to come,
and everything under the sun is in tune,
but the sun is eclipsed by the moon."

Quote of the day:
"Mama, why is God's fingernail orange?" -Brave Loerke

Next eclipse: June 10, 2021

{One Way to Thrive}

Wednesday, August 23, 2017

{Photo by Becca Skinner}
I heard not too long ago that people need 4 hugs a day to survive,
8 to experience happiness, and 12 to thrive.
Lately Brave and I have been giving each other a dozen hugs before she gets out of bed in the morning.
We count them down then look at each other and yell, "We're thriving!"
I hope this girl will always know my arms are a safe place for her to land, no matter how big she grows.
Here's to all of us giving and receiving a baker's dozen today.

Campfire coffee with some wonderful woman and Ryder,
the neighbor's dog who stole our burgers and ate half my breakfast this morning.
Reasons #482 why I love sleeping outside.
