{The Harvest House}

Friday, October 13, 2017

One of the reasons we moved to Kentucky was to experience four real season again.
We love fall and we love our home!
It's been a place where many of us have gathered and received seeds of grace and forgiveness.
As much as we love it, we know it can be gone in an instant ... for now we'll take each day in it as a gift.
Here's to gratitude and the time of year when we feel most content!
Happy weekend, brave ones.

As Brave grows so does our love for our favorite season!
We. Love. Fall.
Happy Wednesday, y'all!

{Be sure and visit Gallrein Farms! It's about a 40 min drive outside of Louisville in Shelbyville, KY.
After visiting several farms already this fall this one is by far our favorite!}

Our 7th annual October 1st Party brought us lots of laughs!
Fall games, prizes, applesauce spice cake. Punkin' Ale, and Charlie Brown's Great Pumpkin Escape.
Welcome back October, we missed you.

{Unexpected Kindness}

Wednesday, October 04, 2017

"Hi Brave! Thank you for the eggs! I am impressed with your business. Keep up the good work!
I have just come from my families farm. Our Papa is a shepherd and this is some wool from his sheep.
I have seen your mama post pictures of your treasures, and I thought you might like to feel it.
There is also a piece of a plant that is growing on lots of farms in the country.
Do you know what it is?
Thanks again for the eggs! I hope you have a lovely day! - Miss. Sherri
Kindness from strangers has been one of the biggest contributors in helping make
Brave more aware of others.
Today's act of spoke volumes to all of us!
Happy Wednesday, y'all.

Last week Noel watched you while I was hugging the toilet bowl.
This week we got to hang with her kiddos.
Life gives and it takes ...
Sometimes you wake up excited and get dressed for your 4:30pm dance class 8 hours early.
Other days your friends rock their mama's tank top around their neck like a cape.
And then other days, friends travel over oceans to get to their forever family.
All of it is messy, but all of it is beautiful.
Wherever you are, build a family of friends who you can both give to and receive from.
It makes all the difference.
Love,
Mama

{Climb On}

I don't know why, but this moment made me think of a couple of years from now when
Brave will get stuck up in her first tree.
Climb on, little one ... Papa's got you.

{Napkin Nest}

Sunday, October 01, 2017

"Mama, I made a napkin nest so I wouldn't lose your treasures at school," says the cutest kid ever.
This morning in a moment of parenting weakness I told Brave that babies fall out of
mama's vagina's instead of their bellies.
Her response (accompanied by an eye roll) was, "Mama, that is the silliest thing I've ever heard."
This parenting thing is both precious and petrifying.
Someone wrap me in a napkin nest already!
Happy October 1st.
We're kicking it off right with one of our favorite traditions this afternoon.
