{Los Angeles to Portland!}

Tuesday, July 29, 2014

Today marks the beginning of our big West Coast adventure!
For the next 10 days we'll be driving from LA to Portland with these friends,
stopping at different places along the way to surf, eat, sleep, and fly fish.
I can't tell you how excited we are to be on vacation and hopefully meet some of you along the way!
Be sure and follow us on Instagram and Twitter for possible meet & greets.
And thanks to all of you who made suggestions of places to eat & things to do while we're in the PNW!

{Gratitude} Lately

Sunday, July 27, 2014

Lately I've been thankful for afternoon's working on the Airstream with these two.

For homegrown juicing materials.

For spontaneous road trips to Nashville for paletas.

For cool summer nights.

For beet kombucha found on my door step after a run.

For shared meals and time in the garden with friends.

For clean crevices.

For BLT's made with homegrown Cherokee Purples.

For daydreams of our upcoming trip to Cali.

And for friend's who bake 11 pies in 1 day for babes they have yet to hold.
Here's to gratitude and how it turns everything into enough.
Happy Sunday, brave ones.
What have you been thankful for lately?

On Saturday we celebrated Bek's birthday with
campfire brats, homemade chocolate cake, and conversation set
to the soundtracks of Lauryn Hill & Holly Williams.
It was simple goodness all around.
Being there made me realize how blessed I am to have these women in my circle.
Each one of them continues to inspire me in their own way,
always reminding the gift of truly being known.

{Today's Letters}

Monday, July 21, 2014

Dear Timothy James, next week we'll be driving up the coast of California with this little one in tow. Pretty sure seeing her by the ocean for the first time will be just as magical as watching her do a truffle shuffle at Cannon Beach. Dear Begin Again, you were a fantastic movie. Better than splitter shared between two friends' playlists on the subway. Dear Papa, this text exchange made me realize how lucky I am to have you as my dad. Your passion for baking and sense of humor are better than your French Toast Fingers and Blueberry Preserves. Dear Mr. Loerke {who always gets two letters}, the person who catches the biggest steelhead on the Deschutes gets a six pack of their choice and a nap. Game?

Happy Monday, brave ones! We'd love to hear if you have suggestions of places to eat and things to do from LA to Portland!

{Gratitude} Lately

Tuesday, July 15, 2014

Lately I've been thankful for reminders of home on my morning walks. #kansasbornandraised

For clean crevices.

For a backyard that makes me forget I live in the city.

For finding the best gyro sandwich shop of my LIFE.

For cooler mornings to pick blueberries.

For pockets full of these.

And for this little person who regularly reveals my selfishness.
Here's to gratitude and how it turns everything into enough.
Happy Tuesday!
What have you been thankful for lately?
